Media Space is a new photography and art gallery on the second floor of the Science Museum in London.  It is a collaboration between the Science Museum and the National Media Museum in Bradford, home of the National Photography Collection.

The inaugural exhibition is Only in England with photographs by Martin Parr and the late Tony Ray-Jones.

The above picture – Beachy Head boat trip –  was taken by Ray-Jones in 1967 and shows that he had a keen eye for the commonplace eccentricities of the English.

For three days, the 18th edition of the Savignano Immagini Festival transforms a quiet Italian town near Rimini into  a hive  of cultural activity. The town plays host to free photography exhibitions with sixteen gallery spaces dedicated to broad themes of identity and perception. I visited on the final day, a sunny Sunday afternoon, and while I didn’t get to see everything, I saw enough to give this initiative a massive thumbs up.
