I’m not sure how many orgasms are experienced by book lovers on entering Powells City of books in Portland, Oregon but I’m guessing it runs to hundreds a day. Portland is not a city with famous sights for tourists to check off but this monument to reading pleasure more than makes up for it. 9 rooms – 4 floors – one complete city block : now that’s what I call a book shop!
