I experience the social network as both an expression of my need to stay connected and a symbol of my isolation from the ‘real world’.

Although it is becoming more and more important for students to shape and control their own learning, I believe that, as an educator, I  have a vital role in influencing how connections can be utilised positively.

If we teachers are to remain relevant, we must become arbitrators of the flux –  mediators between humankind and technology.

The trouble is, most days  I feel I am walking a tightrope without a safety net.
