Nicole Portman makes like she's flying.

“The only thing you done was Yesterday and since you’ve been gone you’re Just Another Day”. John Lennon was not feeling much love towards Paul McCartney when he wrote How Do You Sleep?

This venomous song is an illustration of the rivalry between the two that helped make them the most important and influential songwriting partnership in contemporary music.

Apart, they never reached the peaks achieved with the Beatles and I can honestly say there isn’t a single McCartney or Wings album I’ve been remotely interested in owning.

His new song My Valentine softened my hard heart a little though and may have done the same for Lennon too. Its strength lies in the simplicity- nothing showy or superfluous, just a simple (silly?) love song performed with no frills.

The video for the song makes it even more appealing. Nicole Portman and Johnny Depp do an approximation of sign language  with Portman being more convincing in this department. She looks serene and very sexy too!  Depp looks grumpy and a little overweight like he’d rather be somewhere else but the contrast between the two stars works pretty well.

It hasn’t turned me into a McCartney fan but I find this video/song quite charming:
