I always thought that the use of children in political propaganda was against the law. Even it it’s not I think that the practice is totally unethical and tantamount to child abuse.
The poster campaign by UDC (Unione dei Democratici Cristiani e Democratici di Centro) in Italy features that party’s president Pier Fernando Casini bonding with kids.
For their slogan they also use the oxymoron “L’estremo centro” . To say something as politically of the ‘extreme centre’ is like saying someone has radically middle of the road views!
I took photos of two of the posters, both of which expose the work of a very sloppy bill sticker as if that worker wanted to register his disapproval of the party line.
If such publicity was used in Britain, I’m sure there would be a national outcry.

The slogan ‘un disegno comune’ uses the U D C acronym and it’s good to see some backlash from Italians with creative individuals finding alternative wording :

Una disgrazia conosciuta roughly translates as ‘Knowingly Disgraceful’ while ‘ Un Divorziato Cattolico is a reference to the fact that, despite portraying himself as an upholder of Catholic (i.e. blinkered/fascist) values Casini has divorced and remarried. He’s a father of four- two with his first wife and two with his second.
My English slogan for this campaign would be : ‘The Unethical display of children’.
