Top stylist , Guillermo Mariotto, on the jury for Miss Italia 2007 declared that to effectively judge the quality of the talent / meat on display : “Vogliamo vedere anche il dietro, perchè ci sono tante ragazze con i sederi mosci e pieni di smagliature” (We also need to see the rear view, because there are lots of girls whose behinds are flabby and full of stretch marks).
The charade that this anachronistic contest is about personality as well as beauty can officially be abandoned. Forget sharp brains it’s tight bums the jury really want to see!
Perhaps it’s now reached the point that the ‘girls’ can dispense with the ritual of posing in their swimming costumes and parade in their birthday suits instead. That way we would be certain that that the contestant with the primest quality rump will take the crown!
